Learning a second language bring to us a lot of benefits. First of all, it improves our network since we have more than only one mean of communication. We can create a relationship with people from other countries and communicate with then here as well since it's easy nowadays to meet people with different language.

When we learn another language, we aren't just learning how to talk all over again, we are also discovering another whole culture, it's amazing and surprising how different we are. For example, here in Brazil when we go out and call some friends to have a good time in a restaurant, usually each one of us pay what we spent or we split the bill between ourselves and each one pay a bit, but in China the person who invites everyone is the host and will pay everything if someone tries to help even if it is a outsider, the host can take as an offence, because it's their culture to do things like that. This is just one of thousand differences we can discover learning a new language.

It also improves our self esteem and market value, we are opening an entire new world for us and with a new communication tool, we are ahead in value, because it's easy to meet people with different languages in simple places like a shoes shop, a super market, a shopping mall, literally anywhere.

When I had a first contact with English if I remember well, I was very young, something around 10 or 14 years old, today I'm 25. I played a lot of international games and reached a level that if I wanted to stay playing international games, I needed to start learning English. At beginning was hard to communicate with a North American because I could not manage to hold a conversation for more than 5 minutes and my head started to hurt for processing too much information in a short time, but, in that time, was easier than nowadays because using microphones in a computer was only to "rich" people so I had to focus only in my writing skills, although, some years ago this reflected in a poor pronunciation but I reached a high vocabulary.

Today I'm still studying and increasing my vocabulary and focusing even more in my pronunciation skills, I never thought that I would keep an English conversation for hours. I'll share with you something, the feeling of having a conversation with someone in another language is just amazing, most of the time I talk to my friends at my course and sometimes with my cousin, but I already talked with one North American through the microphone, he understood me and I understood him as well.

I have a bigger objective today than I had when I was younger, today I have the objective to learn more than 3 languages because I know that I can, it's scary thinking how much trouble and things I'll have to do to achieve that but I'm on the right path, I went out of my comfort zone trying to talk in English and succeed If I succeed doing this I can succeed learning more than 3 languages, everyone can. 

And I realized not only that, I realized that I can learn literally anything with proper dedication, our fears and doubts it's just the adrenaline of trying something new, we aren't stuck in only one thing, we aren't limited. If our goals scare us, we are on the right path, “the growth path”.

O quebrador de fronteiras

Aprender uma segunda língua traz para nós um monte de benefícios. Primeiro de tudo, aprimora nosso network uma vez que temos mais do que apenas um meio de comunicação. Nós podemos criar um relacionamento com pessoas de outros países e se comunicar com eles aqui também pois é fácil hoje em dia conhecer pessoas com idiomas diferentes.

Quando nós aprendemos outra língua, nós não estamos apenas aprendendo como falar tudo de novo, nós estamos também descobrindo outra cultura inteira, é incrível e surpreendente o quanto somos diferentes. Por exemplo, aqui no Brasil quando saímos e chamamos alguns amigos para se divertir em um restaurante, geralmente cada um de nós paga o que gasta ou nós dividimos a conta entre nós e cada um paga uma parte, mas na China a pessoa que convida todo mundo é o anfitrião e irá pagar tudo se alguém tentar ajudar mesmo que seja de fora, o anfitrião pode entender como uma ofensa, porque é a cultura deles fazer coisas assim. Essa é apenas uma das mil diferenças que podemos descobrir aprendendo uma nova língua.

Também melhora nossa auto-estima e valor de mercado, estamos abrindo um mundo totalmente novo para nós e com uma nova ferramenta de comunicação, nós estamos na frente no valor, porque é fácil conhecer pessoas com idiomas diferentes em lugares simples como uma loja de sapatos, um super mercado, um shopping, literalmente qualquer lugar.

Quando eu tive o primeiro contato com o Inglês se eu me lembro bem, Eu era muito jovem, algo em torno de 10 ou 14 anos de idade, hoje eu tenho 25 anos. Eu joguei um monte de jogos internacionais e cheguei um nível que se eu quisesse continuar a jogar jogos internacionais, eu precisava começar a aprender Inglês. No começo foi bem difícil se comunicar com um Norte Americano porque eu não podia manter uma conversa por mais de 5 minutos e minha cabeça começava a doer por processar muita informação em um curto tempo, mas, naquele tempo, era mais fácil do que hoje em dia porque usar microfones em um computador era só para pessoas "ricas" então eu tinha que focar só nas minhas habilidades de escrita, embora, há alguns anos, isso se refletisse em uma pronúncia ruim mas eu atingisse um vocabulário alto.

Hoje eu ainda estou estudando e aumentando meu vocabulário e focando ainda mais em minhas habilidades de pronunciação, Eu nunca pensei que eu poderia manter uma conversação em Inglês por horas. Eu irei compartilhar uma coisa com você, o sentimento de ter uma conversa com alguém em outro idioma é simplesmente incrível, a maior parte do tempo eu converso com meus amigos no meu curso e algumas vezes com meu primo, mas eu já conversei com um Norte Americano pelo microfone, ele me entendeu e eu entendi ele também.

Eu tenho um objetivo maior hoje do que eu tinha quando era mais jovem, hoje eu tenho o objetivo de aprender mais do que 3 idiomas porque eu sei que posso, é amedrontador pensar em quantos problemas e coisas eu irei ter que alcançar para fazer isso mas eu estou no caminho certo, eu sai da minha zona de conforto tentando conversar em Inglês e consegui se eu consegui fazendo isso eu posso conseguir aprender mais do que 3 idiomas, todos podem.

E eu percebi que não só isso, eu percebi que posso aprender literalmente qualquer coisa com dedicação apropriada, nossos medos e dúvidas são apenas a adrenalina de tentar algo novo, nós não estamos presos em apenas uma coisa, nós não estamos limitados. Se nossos objetivos nos assustam, nós estamos no caminho certo, "o caminho do crescimento".
